Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg expected the Newsfeed to be superseded Stories after implementing the feature pioneered by Snapchat. Instagram followed suit by adding their own version of Stories and now, Airbnb wants to implement the popular feature on their products.
Some Airbnb app or web users spotted Travel Stories, a similar feature to Snapchat Stories that allows people to showcase their adventures through short videos. Users can upload up to 10-second videos and viewers can tap on links to find more information about that location. Of course, they can also see Airbnb-branded experiences.
On mobile, Airbnb Travel Stories is only available on iOS, but it will likely be implemented on other platforms soon enough.
To create a Travel Story, you’ll select up to 10 short, vertical videos per story from your camera reel and then tag them so that they contain links to other Airbnb pages from that destination. You can check out the full tutorial on the official Airbnb website.
