Apple’s AirPods have launched over 2 years ago and the rumor mill has been going on and on about the AirPods 2 shortly after. Even so, Apple has mostly kept quiet about the AirPods successor but a new report hints that all this might change soon.

We told you about a week ago that orders for Glass Passivated Package (GPP) bridge rectifiers are on the rise. These bridge rectifiers are the components that are used for wireless chargers. It seems like Lite-On Semiconductor, a company that manufactures them, has been shipping large numbers for AirPower for over a year.

There are some who believe that, once the AirPower will be released on the market, it will quickly be followed by the AirPods 2, since Apple has been teasing launching a wireless charging case since 2017.

A report from Digitimes also states that Apple will release the AirPods 2 sometime in the first six months of 2019 and that the earbuds will come with health monitoring functions. What those monitoring functions would be, that we don’t really know, especially since the earbuds are quite small to begin with.

Considering the rumors about the AirPower and the AirPods 2 abound as of recently, we’re expecting Apple to release an official announcement in the weeks to come and when they do, we’ll tell you all about it.
