Alexa Users Can Now Listen to Playlists Free But Have To Deal With Ads

amazon alexa

Amazon has announced that the Alexa users in the U.S who don’t have a Prime membership or an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription will be able to listen to a selection of top playlists and stations for free with Amazon Music. The only catch is that they’ll have to listen to the ads that come along with this free option.

The users can access to play a station based on a song, artist, era and genre and listen to some of Amazon Music’s top global playlists. All they have to do is ask “Alexa, play the playlist Pop Culture“, for example, to tune in to the global playlist for today’s most popular songs. If you’re more of an 80’s fan, you can simply say “Alexa, play 80’s music” instead.

Of course, this free service only has a limited amount of music and if the users want to have a wider selection of titles available to them, they will have to subscribe to Amazon Music Unlimited service, which provides access to over 50 million songs.
