We knew Apple’s MagSafe was going to be bulky but we didn’t imagine it would turn out… THIS bulky!
Apple’s renders didn’t quite do justice to their MagSafe battery. The initial images showed a seamless, almost-glued-on accessory with curved edges that made complete sense.
Now that the MagSafe pack is out in the wild, the overall impression is that it’s a bit chunkier than we expected. Steven Russel saw them in real life and decided to share pictures – real ones – of the MagSafe battery.
The verdict? It will feel like you’ve glued two iPhones together (one smaller than the other, of course 😉 But let’s see the glass half-full side of things; there are chunkier batteries out there, like the ones from Anker, for example.
Also, if you want to rely on wireless charging, you need a decent battery size, anyway.
What’s great about MagSafe, it seems, is that it doubles as a charger for your other Apple devices such as the AirPods Pro. And, if you’re looking for cross-system solutions, this one should work with Android devices.
Apple MagSafe has become available for purchase on the company’s website for $99.
