Good news, starting today Apple reopens its five Beijing stores. However, keep in mind the stores will function on a limited hour schedule, according to Reuters.
Therefore, the five stores: Sanlitun, Apple Mall China, Chaoyang Joy City, Wangfujing, and Xidan Joy City will function between 11 AM to 5PM, instead of 10 am to 10 PM as usual. For now, these are the only stores to reopen so far, until Apple’s further notice.
On the 1st of February, Apple closed all of its retail stores in China as a security measure. After a global public health emergency with 60,000 confirmed cases and 1,370 deaths so far, was declared, the first mandatory CDC quarantine was triggered in 50 years in the United States. Also, foreign nationals were banned from returning from China and many airlines temporarily suspended all flights to the country.
