If you want Apple AirPods, but with some of the features behind brands like Beats and Bose, you’ll be happy to know that Apple’s getting ready to launch noise-cancelling over-ear headphones. And sooner than you think!
According to Bloomberg, new Apple headphones are in the pipeline and they will be a high-end offering.
“The Cupertino, California-based technology giant is working on noise-canceling, over-ear headphones that rival headsets from market leaders like Bose and even the company’s own Beats by Dre brand, according to people familiar with the product’s development. The company plans to launch the headphones as early as the end of this year, but has faced development challenges that might push back the release, the people said,” according to Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI Security Analyst.
While Kuo couldn’t share details on the price, seeing how Beats, Bose, Sennheiser, and other high-end headphones price tags start at $350, that’s where we expect Apple’s new over-ear headphones to start around this price.
As Apple has recently acquired Shazam, these new Apple over-ear headphones have a good chance of showing have Shazam capabilities:
“Apple Music and Shazam are a natural fit, sharing a passion for music discovery and delivering great music experiences to our users.”
