According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will come with significant updates to their 2019 iPhones front cameras. Specifically, they will go from 7MP to 12MP sensors, while the 6.5-inch and 5.8-inch OLED iPhones will feature triples cameras.

Both the added super-wide and the front camera lenses will be colored black, for better chromatic matching with the surrounding bezel. The black lens coating may have help the new square camera protrusion be more pleasing to the eye.

He also added that that the iPhone XR successor will feature a dual-camera system in 2019.

The increase in megapixels is not the only improvement to the front camera, as it will also feature a 5-element lens system.

Most likely, all these updates will be confirmed in the fall, at their September media event, where Apple is expected to officially
announce the trio of new iPhones.
