Apple’s wireless earphones are finally ready to hit the market. Airpods are now officially available to purchase from their official store and will be shipping at the end of the month #objectmagic
Airpods were Apple’s most controversial product release this year. They were designed to accompany iPhone 7, their first phone without headphone jack, and while they feature no wires, they do have some pretty awkward extensions. The earphones connect to the phone via Bluetooth using a W1 wireless chip.
If they did convince you and you’ve been waiting for a chance to buy them, now is the moment. The $159 Airpods can be ordered from the official Apple site, but will soon appear in Apple Stores, “select” carrier stores, and authorized Apple retailers. Physical stores “will receive regular AirPod shipments.”
Customers will receive the full package at purchase – earphones, charging case and Lightning-to-USB cable. The accessory is expected to retail in over 100 countries, including Australia, Canada, FRance, India, Mexico and Japan.
