The EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan kicked off in high gear with the debut of the Arc Vector, an electric motorcycle that can literally be classed as a head-turner.
Founded by Marc Truman, the former leader of Jaguar White Space, Arc is in the business of making head-turning EV concepts and accessories.
Now, one of them became the Arc Vector electric motorcycle, a 95 kW high-tech beauty with a top speed of 150 mph and 170 miles of urban range, capable of going from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds.
All that power comes in an incredibly sleek, high-end carbon fiber design, with all the electronics tucked in discreetly in the body that, according to Arc, is “25 percent lighter than its nearest competition”.
However, what’s a real head turner is the assortment of Arc Vector accessories.
The Arc Zenith helmet has a ” multi-sensory HMI(Human Machine Interface) and actually includes a rearview camera whose feed you can see through the projection-based HUD (head-up display).
The haptic jacket includes both embedded speakers and vibrations to warn drivers about vehicles behind them. Or, you know, to take the music to that next level.
“The sensory experience this machine provides, with its haptic amplifiers and HUD helmet, has never been done before,” said Mark Truman, Arc’s chief.
“People ask me if this could be distracting, but it is actually designed to be the total opposite. The tech frees you and your senses because the distractions have been removed.
It allows you to concentrate on the road and your one-ness with the bike, to just enjoy the moment knowing the bike is looking out for you and the information you need is right in front of you.”
Of course, all that heat won’t come cheap. Arc will produce only 355 Arc Vector electric motorcycles and each one will retail for a spicy $117,000.
