Asus is keeping up the zen attitude at Computex. After appreciating the company’s effort to release the world’s thinnest convertible laptop , we have to take our hats off to their ingenuity in crafting the ZenScreen. With one well-placed hole, you can make it stand up without a foldable smart case #hardwaremagic
The mystery wears off the more you look at the picture above (it’s not Photoshopped by the way). Indeed, Asus has made an accompanying pen to go with the USB monitor. No, it’s not a coincidence that the pen fits perfectly in the right corner hole; in fact, it has just this purpose, to keep it propped up during your activity.
Before you ask, the silver pen is not a stylus. Sadly, you can’t use it to draw on the monitor. But if you forget the foldable smart case at home, you can insert the pen and enjoy multitasking in either direction – vertically or horizontally.
As funny as this solution is, let’s focus on the protagonist – the monitor. It’s a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS piece with a slim 6.5mm bezel that weighs 780g. The bottom front is covered in metal and harbors three buttons, leaving the left side clean, with only one USB Type-C port. It features automatic screen rotation, eight video preset modes and has four levels of blue light filters.
ZenScreen will first hit stores in Taiwan but you should soon get it also, for $249.
