Got sick of swiping on Tinder, OKCupid, Bumble and the rest of the dating apps?
A new dating app called ‘Feels’ coming out of France wants to replace the swipe dating culture with stories.
While it might be calling itself an “anti-dating app”, Feels is made to find you a romantic connection, since the stories you post on a Snapchat or TikTok-like interface are supposed to woo people landing on your profile.
“Try Feels : not a dating app, just relaxed relationships without rules or labels, without societal pressure, paternalistic injunctions or traditional norms,” says the app, which already has over 100,000 active profiles.
Like on Hinge or OKCupid, your profile can be populated by answers to premade questions, but the accent will be on the videos (and pictures) you upload.
Since most people struggling on dating apps say that it’s difficult to represent your personality in just a couple of photos and a short bio, short videos might work a lot better in showcasing their personalities.
“When you’re looking at a profile on Feels, it fills up your entire screen. Videos start playing, you can see what the person likes and who they are in front of a camera. You can react to some content or you can simply move on by swiping up. There’s no heart or like button,” explains Techcrunch.
The publication also talked to the founders, who revealed their app has been more than 2 years in the making and has gotten an impressive amount of funding.
The Feels app is already available on Google Play Store and iOS so, if you want to make some new connections, get your camera-face ready and hop on it.
