A lot has been said about what the new Blackberry Key 2 LE will have to offer but now we have the full picture, as the phone has been revealed during the IFA Berlin.
It has an aluminium frame, to begin with, that sports a rubber finish and a diamond pattern. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 636 chipset and has a 4.5 inch display with a 1620 x 1080 resolution.
It comes with 6GB of RAM and it has the options of 64GB or 128GB storage variants and it is the first BlackBerry that features dual 12MP rear cameras.
It comes with the Android 8.1 out of the box.
The DTEK security is still what the modern BlackBerry phones are known for and the apps include a Locker feature that allows users to store their photos and files. For those who are cautious concerning privacy and data safety, the feature is very appealing.
BlackBerry added a Speed Key to the design which allows you to assign shortcuts to multiple tasks, hence, you won’t have to return to the home screen to access the apps, contacts or functions – you just press the Speed Key and you gain instant access to your most frequently used apps or call a favorite contact.
The phone is compact and lightweight, but obviously, if you have either moved on or are not used to the physical QWERTY keyboard, you will find the lower half of the phone annoying, to say the least.
The phone will start shipping globally starting this month, with a price tag that will start at $649.
