Last year, IFA Berlin was one of the few physical events that happened in tech, though at a very small scale and with just presenters and press at the location.
This year, the organizers of what used to be Europe’s biggest tech event are confident that, until September, they’ll be able to hold IFA 2021 just like in the golden days.
IFA 2021 is going ahead and happening between September 3rd and 7th at Messe Berlin.
“With the world on course to emerge from the pandemic, the organisers are now seeing huge interest from brands, manufacturers and retailers across all industry sectors, who want to come to Berlin and see products and innovation in action once again,” announce the organizers.
They also said that some exhibition segments are even more popular than before the pandemic and are already reserved more than 80%.
What could those be? We’re not sure, as the organizers didn’t say but we’d bet wearables are going to make a huge return after most of Europe is vaccinated and out and about.
“The message we hear from our industry is loud and clear: ‘Tech is Back in Berlin’ and ready to meet with retailers, media and consumers – safely, but in real life,” said the CEO of Messe Berlin, the location that traditionally holds IFA.
IFA 2021 will also host two new events, a Berlin Photo Week tie-in and a conference designed by women for women called ‘Tech Up for Women’.
After skipping the 2020 edition, we look forward to attending IFA in person and bringing you the hottest news in tech!
