Edge-to-edge display is the most wanted design feature in a smartphone today. Xiaomi Mi MIX made it abundantly clear after selling like hotcakes and now, Maze, a new Chinese manufacturer, is set to follow in its footsteps with an edge-to-edge premium smartphone #mobilemagic
Maze is betting on the same design trend with flagship Alpha. This is the name of the smartphone the company is set to release this April. There’s not much to go on in terms of specs but we do know that it will have:
- 5.5 or 6-inches screen
- an AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4
- (almost) edge-less display
- dual-lens camera with flash
- Android Nougat 7.0 as operating system
From what we can tell, this phone is going to sell as a premium product; that means processors, RAM and battery should be top-notch. When it comes to software though, they might not measure up to Xiaomi, Huawei or Oppo, not to mention giants like Samsung. But if the price is attractive enough, it won’t even matter in the end. As a secondary smartphone, Alpha should do its job just fine (or even as a primary phone, if you use it mostly for chat apps and calls).
We’ve heard Maze wants to test the waters in Europe first and if everything goes as planned, it could bring Alpha in US later this year.
