Oppo F3 and F3 Plus To Come With Dual Selfie Cameras

oppo-f1-plus-selfie-camera inspiration for F3

Oppo’s appearance at Mobile World Congress didn’t include a new smartphone but an amazing 5x optical zoom camera technology. So, it’s a bit surprising that mere weeks later, the company is teasing a new “selfie expert” series, the F3 and F3 Plus with not one, but two selfie cameras #mobilemagic

The biggest smartphone vendor in China  is back at the assembly line putting together a “selfie killer”. F3 and F3 Plus, the latest phones set to retail this Spring, are going to boast dual front cameras. The idea of doubling the power of the front shooter instead of the rear one, as many smartphone makers have done this past year, is understandable, given their market strategy.

Oppo has also positioned itself as a great phone maker for social butterflies who are keen on taking selfies. After all, the devices from this series (the F*) come with custom selfie enhancements, thanks to top-notch beautification technology from FotoNation.

The front camera module will have a 16MP + 8MP combo, while the rear cam will sport a 16MP sensor. The rest of the hardware is shaping up, too:

  • Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor
  • 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage, expendable to 256GB microSD
  • 4,000mAh battery

Better than decent, I’d say. Both devices will run Android Marshmallow 6.0 with ColorOS 3.0. Their sizes are going to differ drastically – F3 Plus is rumored to boast a 6-inches screen with Gorilla Glass 5, with the standard version probably coming at 5.0 or 5.5-inches. Two colors will be available: Gold and Black.

The end of the month – March 23 – is going to clarify all speculations, as Oppo will unveil the smartphones.
