If you ever asked yourself: can muscle cars actually go electric and still be worth it, then we might just have an answer for you. Chevrolet says yes.
Chevrolet has now released some teaser photos of its newest drag racing Camaro, the electric eCOPO, which is going to be revealed at the SEMA show later on today, in Las Vegas.
The car is all-electric, driven by a motor that provides over 700 horsepower and 600 pound feet of torque. What got everyone even more curious about the model is the 800-volt battery, which was developed by General Motors. With this battery, charging times are faster, which is important due to the limited time between elimination rounds in drag racing.
The battery pack has four 200-volt modules and each of them are mounted strategically for ideal weight distribution. The roll cage has also been extended to surround the batteries as well, just for that extra bit of protection.

The car is still undertaking tests but Chevrolet believes that the vehicle can run the quarter mile in 9.0 seconds just fine.
