A PC port for Final Fantasy VII REMAKE may be right around the corner.
According to Video Games Chronicle, older evidence of FFVII REMAKE’s arrival to PC cam in the form of an online tracked which noticed references to both Alan Wake Remastered and FFVII REMAKE in Epic Games Store files. A more recent retail leak at least further pointed to Alan Wake Remastered coming to the game store. While not directly about FFVII REMAKE, further evidence of one game coming out adds some intrigue to the original findings.
Further, VGC notes that Square Enix, publishers of FFVII REMAKE, had previously made a deal to the Kingdom Hearts series to Epic Games Store. Kingdom Hearts is arguable one of their top IPs along with Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy VII REMAKE originally launched on the PlayStation 4 as a timed console exclusive. Although the originally stated one-year exclusivity window has expired, the game has yet to release on a system besides PlayStation. A PS5 update and Yuffie Kisaragi DLC released earlier this year, both of which also remain exclusive to PlayStation at the time of this reporting.
A release to PC would certainly expand the reach of the game, particularly the Intergrade expansion as only those who own a PS5 currently can play the DLC.
