It took awhile but you can now finally download shows from the official HBO apps for offline viewing.
HBO quietly released an update to their HBO apps that lets you download shows and movies to watch when the Internet is spotty (or missing entirely!).
This is a feature offered by other streaming competitors, like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, for quite some time, so it’s a welcome addition for HBO.
However, not all of the HBO Go or Now library is available for download. You’ll see the content available for offline viewing marked with an arrow.
Of course, most of HBO’s own hit series are available (think Chernobyl or Watchmen) and some older, classic movies like Pulp Fiction.
Once you download a show or a movie, you’ll find it in the Downloads tab for the next 48 hours. Afterwards, it will be automatically removed from your device and you will have to download it again.
According to Spanish outlet One-Tech, there is a limit of 25 downloaded titles on Android at a time.
