Xbox just published what they called their “First Look [at] Xbox Series X Gameplay.” In the approximately 30-minute presentation, several different publishers presented new looks and world premieres for the titles heading to the Xbox Series X in 2020 and beyond.
The biggest game in the lineup was likely Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ending off the presentation, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla portion showed a trailer of Eivor and the raids. Additionally, Yakuza: Like a Dragon was announced as a launch title for the Xbox Series X.
Other games included:
- Bright Memory Infinite
- DiRT 5
- Scorn
- Chorvs
- Madden ’21
- Bloodlines 2
- Call of the Sea
- The Ascent
- The Medium
- Scarlet Nexus
- Second Extinction
Some of the highlights of the game trailers were the particle effects. Although what has been shown was trailers rather than gameplay, the hope is that the Series X is powerful enough to actually render the games as shown.
Unfortunately, other than game trailers, the Xbox presentation had little to show. A quick look into the comments shows how disappointed people were. There was no real “gameplay” at all, just a bunch of trailers with footage from games that are “representative” of what it will look like on the Series X.
Here’s to hoping as it gets closer to launch, Xbox will be able to show first-party games and actual gameplay.
