We reported recently that GDC would be postponed. However, much of GDC’s talks would have been previously recorded and streamed. The show will go on in some sense, with a spokesperson from the conference stating that these recorded segments will be streamed and free for all to view.
According to a report by The Verge, these talks with occur during when GDC would have occurred (March 16th – March 20th). In addition, they will later become available on YouTube and on the GDC website.
Microsoft, one of the major companies that dropped out of the GDC before it was postponed, announced individually that they would be hosting a stream of the concepts and products they would have announced at the conference. Another report by The Verge notes that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Project xCloud, their streaming platform, talks will be held on March 18th.
Other Microsoft specific talks can be found here. Most of their Day 1 talks (March 17th) focuses on game development, like with Gears 5 and Sea of Thieves. Day 2, March 18th, focuses more on what to expect in the Xbox Series X, including the talk at 11:40 PST titled “Xbox Series X + Project xCloud = New Chapter in Gaming.”
