Google has plenty of brilliant minds under its umbrella and plans are attracting even more. Recently, Diane Greene, head of Google Cloud, announced they hired two specialists in artificial intelligence from Standford and Snap.Inc #machinemagic
Fei-Fei Li, former director of AI at Stanford, and Jia Li, head of research at Snapchat’s parent company, Snap Inc., are going to lead their new efforts in that direction as coordinators of the new Google Cloud Machine Learning group. Both are respected experts in computer vision, the discipline that analyzes and understands information coming from a digital image or more.
Greene revealed that they will focus on adding cutting-edge data crunching to Google Cloud products to help companies predict sales, for example. With their help, Google hopes to bridge together the core business with the research unit.
