Google’s Pixel 5a 5G is here, after standing rumors that it had been postponed.
The phone will be cheaper, specifically $449, which is $50 less than the Pixel 4A 5G.
When compared to its Google 4A 5G predecessor, the handset brings a series of interesting updated features among which there is a much bigger battery (4,680mAh), a 1080p screen of about 6.34 inches, and a 60Hz refresh rate, as well as an IP67 rating for water resistance.
This is the first A-series Pixel that gets an official water resistance rating and can resist immersion in up to three feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
The handset will run on a Snapdragon 765G chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and will integrate a rear fingerprint scanner for biometric unlock, a headphone jack and an 18W charger.
The Google Pixel 5A will be offered straight from the Google Store and with Android 11, in the color variant “Mostly Black”, with four color options to follow.
