Goggle’s latest update for its Camera App has started rolling out. After version 8.0 was only available for Pixel 5 models, now update 8.1 is available for older Pixel models as well.
As 9to5Google reports, the app’s latest update brings new features to Pixel phones as old as Pixel 2 and 2 XL. The features include Cinematic Pan, which was first introduced with the release of Pixel 5, and “Audio Zoom”, the ability to reduce background noise while recording.
The Cinematic Pan video recording helps with smooth panning shots and will only be available to Pixel 4 and 4XL users. The update is still rolling out, so if it hasn’t reached your device, don’t worry your time will come. According to the report, users already reported errors related to verification with this update, so it may take longer than usual for Google to get this one right.
Google’s decision to cut down on flagship features, encouraged other manufacturers to up their game. OnePlus is just one of those companies breathing down Google’s neck.
