According to The Information, the Chinese company anticipates a drop in phone sales by up to 20% in 2020 because of the trade ban from using Google apps and services. The information seems to be with a few managers in its consumer division.
The same source confirmed that Huawei is expected to register sales of 190 million smartphones in 2020, versus just over 240 million in 2019, and the company already noticed weaker sales in Europe especially.
Before the ban, the company managed to certify a significant amount of devices for Google Play Services support, including P30 flagship series, Y9 Prime 2019, and a few Honor devices.
Because of this situation, Huawei only has two options, to ship new devices without the Google services framework or to rebrand the old devices. Now, the company is running its Huawei Mobile Services platform.
