Huawei is slowly winning our hearts with a new, yet again premium smartphone. The Honor 8 Pro has launched today in several countries from Europe, displaying beautiful design, great specs and a VR headset to go #mobilemagic

If you live in UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland, ask around about the Honor 8 Pro from Huawei. It just launched today in your country, for the price of £474.99 (UK) or 549 euros, respectively.

For that price, the device packs a punch. The Navy Blue headset, which is the only color version that has been released today, has a 5.7-inch QHD screen and a super slim body (6.97mm). The back has a matte finish, which is going to help with all the fingerprints, especially since the fingerprint scanner is on the back of the device.

The front looks stylish, although it retains the classic bezels. Under the hood, you’ll find a Kirin 960 octa-core and a whooping 6GB of RAM with 64GB of expendable storage. Honor 8 runs Android Nougat with Huawei’s own EMUI 5.1. The cameras aren’t Leica-approved, like the ones on P10, but they are a 12MP dual-lens affair, so you won’t sacrifice image quality too much. The selfie shooter comes at 8MP resolution.

I kept the best for last – the battery cell is a 4,000mAh monster that offers almost two days of life on a single charge. This, in turn, doesn’t take more than two hours, tops. Huawei added a VR cardboard headset to the bundle which you can play with by looking for the pre-installed Jaunt VR app.

Pre-orders on Amazon start later this month, on April 20.
