Just days ago, the Huawei P50 Pocket, the company’s first flip phone, showed up in a fashion magazine taking the world by storm. The unexpected device caught our attention with its sophisticated design and circular camera module. Now, we finally uncover what lays beneath that gold exterior – here are the specs.
The clamshell foldable expected to launch this December 23 is a worthy rival to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G. P50 Pocket is, at a glance, faster and bigger than its competitor.
We’re looking at a 6.85-inch inner display with an outer, circular one of 1-inch. There, current photos show the hour and date of the December launch.
Next to it, there’s the camera module, hosting three cameras. While Galaxy Z Flip 3 offers a dual 12MP ones, the P50 Pocket impresses with a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide and an 8MP 3x zoom one.
Connectivity-wise, Z Flip 3 is one step ahead of this clamshell phone. The Pocket’s Kirin 9000 chip is limited to 4G speeds, unfortunately.
However, it more than makes up for it at battery level. Here, we have a 4,100mAh battery cell with 66W fast charging capabilities.
By comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is only capable of 15W charging.
Of course, the phone won’t be available in the U.S. but if you’re interested in price, we’ll come back with more info as the launch date approaches.
