According to reports from Strategy Analytics, Counterpoint Research, Huawei just became the world’s second best selling smartphone manufacturer in 2019, surpassing Apple, with over 240 million phones shipped in the last year. The competition was tight, as Apple shipped no more than 200 million units.
But the big winner was Samsung, with 300 million devices shipped, while the top 5 ends up with Xiaomi and Oppo manufacturers.
Because of Huawei’s war with the USA, China bought the most profit, approximately 60 percent of its sales, according to Counterpoint Research. According to the same source, Huawei could have been the big winner if the US conflicts wouldn’t have happened.
The Chinese manufacturer was looking forward to surpassing Apple a long time ago, and back in 2017 the company managed to overtake Apple by selling more smartphones in June and July 2017.
