iPhone sounds are (mostly) delightfully simple and recognizable. To the iPhone user, at least. For this a capella group though, they are a lot of work… and fun.
South Korean a cappella group Maytree loves a challenge. After interpreting the Windows sound effects for more than 700.000 people on YouTube, the band started learning the intricacies of iPhone sounds.
Now, they’ve come back with a rendition of the most popular ringtones from Apple, like “Opening” and “Marimba”. And they didn’t forget about the godawful (but highly effective) “Alarm” tone either.
My favorite by far was their rendition of “Silk”. Since I had “Timba” enabled for a while, I was very curious to see what they could do with it and… was left disappointed by the mellow version recorded.
Watch the video until the end to see the gang do text messages and even lock sounds!
