One of our favorite action camera makers, Insta360, just introduced their new interchangeable lens action camera, the Insta360 One RS.
The new action cam builds upon what made the previous model, the Insta360 One R, such a stunning device.

It’s made of three main parts: the battery, the core, and three easily swappable lenses, so you can go from shooting in 4K to beautiful 360 video quickly.
Even better, the new 4K Boost Lens and Core can work with the previous camera, the One R, so those owners can get new improvements without giving up their existing camera.
The 4K Boost lens has a 1/2” sensor for 48MP photos and 6K Widescreen video, while the new core has significant improvements in video stabilization for the 5.7K panoramic capture.
The new 4K Boost Lens also comes with two new shooting modes that make this a great action cam. Active HDR mode for action sports will keep video stabilized when you’re running around and minimize ghosting. Then, there’s 6K Widescreen mode, which outputs 6K footage in a classic 2.35:1 ratio for that cinematic look.
The new Core comes with an additional mic for better audio, an Instant Zoom with 2.7x digital zoom while recording, plus 50% faster WiFi.
By the way, if you’re tempted to take the Insta360 One RS for a spin only in high-stakes situations (since it can handle being in water up to 5m depths), you should know it can do more. The OneRS doubles as a 360-degree live streaming camera using the Insta360 app and also as a webcam, so you can actually use it in meetings.
The Insta360 One RS is available to buy for $549.99. If you already have the Insta 360 One R and you’d like an upgrade, you can find a bundle with the new RS core, battery and improved mounting bracket for $269.99.
