Remember Mark Zuckerberg’s 2016 resolution? He wanted to have an artificial intelligence assistant at home, just like Iron Man had Jarvis. In August, he was describing how far he got with his pet project and now he seems really close to debuting it. Only it misses a voice. And boy, oh boy, actor Robert Downey Jr who played Iron Man in the movies wants to help him out #machinemagic
Iron Man was Zuckerberg’s inspiration when he came up with the idea. Like him, Zuck is planning to have a functional, intelligent robotic assistant. While it won’t be named Jarvis, it’s certainly going to make Facebook’s founder think of it every time he steps into the house.
So, why not give Jarvis’ voice to it? Facebook users initially suggested using Paul Bettany’s voice, in the comment section of a post published by Zuckerberg.
While he didn’t respond to that, he was pretty excited when others proposed Downey Jr. himself. And then, what do you know – the actor showed up and agreed to it: “I’ll do in a heartbeat if Bettany gets paid and donates it to a cause of Cumberbatch’s choosing…that’s the right kind of STRANGE!”
What – did you think the man wouldn’t come up with some serious conditions?!
