If you just can’t have enough of racing around on your motorcycle across the asphalt, JetPack Aviation has come up with a hover bike that will allow you to speed across the skies.
The hover bike, dubbed Speeder, has four turbojet engines that can offer 750 pound-feet worth of thrust, touchscreen navigation and a 360-degree automatic collision avoidance system, among many other features.
According to JetPack Aviation, it can go as high as 15,000 feet and reach top speeds of 150 miles per hour.
The consumer version doesn’t require you to get a pilot’s license and, for $380,000, you’ll get a personalized flight suit, helmet, a free t-shirt and training.
Unfortunately, this rendition of the hover bike only has an estimated flight time of 10 to 20 minutes, so don’t expect to be able to take it for a spin above the city any time soon.
Also, you’ll notice that the teaser video showcases only a digitally animated Speeder so it’s worth mentioning that there is no working prototype that we can speak of for the time being.
Even so, the company wants to build 20 Speeders and provide them to the military and emergency response personnel in the near future, so we have to assume they’re quite serious about their plans. If we do get to see a working vehicle worthy of these claims in the future, rest assured we’ll tell you all about it.
