LG has announced that it will reveal what the company calls “the next phase in the development of the smart kitchen” during the CES 2019.

The company has joined forces with Drop, the developer of the Drop KitchenOS platform.

The two companies worked on creating a better integration of kitchen appliances into the connected home that will satisfy any customer and the partnership brings some interesting features to the smart kitchens out there, such as Innit and SideChef.

When the user chooses a recipe via Drop, the platform informs all the LG appliances that will be used and automates them according to the recipe: for example, the oven will preheat to the desired temperature or switch to the cooking mode the recipe needs.

Of course, other appliances, such as refrigerators and dishwashers can also help out with either meal preparation or the dreaded process of cleaning up afterwards – the LG QuadWash dishwasher for example, will receive information from the oven about what type of food was cooked and will set up the cleaning process according to the data it gets.

“Technology is making the kitchen more and more complicated and our vision is to create an environment that is welcoming and stress-free so that families can enjoy the optimal culinary experience without having to eat out or order in.”

Dan Song, LG Home Appliance & Air Solution President

According to LG, all the CES 2019 visitors will be able to experience the HomeBrew beer-making machine on the spot as well so it goes without saying we’re looking forward to trying it out.
