During a press conference held for the release of the LG V40 ThinQ phone, LG Mobile CEO Hwang Jeong-hwan officially confirmed that the company was working on a foldable phone.
That does not mean they are in a rush. LG aims to create something that will be as enjoyable as possible for the users, when it actually arrives. After some research, the company realized that the customers are unsure if they would even be willing to pay extra for a foldable phone so they have decided to wait and see what the rival companies like Samsung or Huawei will deliver in terms of foldable devices, and how their products will be received.
Pretty smart, and besides, LG is a big enough name to not bother with trying to get ahead – they have a strong grip on the electronics market as it is. For now, LG’s focus is on the LG V40 ThinQ, a device that brings five cameras to the table alongside a fair number of video and photo improvements.
Let’s hope their patience will pay off in the end.
