Microsoft Unveils Gaming-Oriented Surface Book 3

Alongside the Surface Go 2 and, finally, the Surface Earbuds, Microsoft also unveiled today the big brother Surface Book 3, a massive 2-in-1 tablet / laptop.

The newest Surface Book is available in a 13-inch and 15-inch version, both of them capable of handling gaming.

According to a Microsoft rep quoted by Wired, the Surface Book 3 is Microsoft’s most powerful laptop yet, designed with gaming in mind.

The representative said that a fully upgraded 15-inch Surface Book 3, with the Intel 10th gen processor paired with 32 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GPU, is capable of playing “the top Xbox Game Pass for PC titles at 1080p and 60 frames per second”.

While it’s not the 4K gamers have come to expect, nor does it feature classic gaming design (think RGB lights), the new Surface Book does seem like a great multitasking device.

On a single charge, the 13-inch Surface Book 3 promises up to 15.5 hours of battery life.

Its 15-inch bigger brother ups that to 17.5 hours, which is quite impressive.

Of course, it won’t come cheap. The Surface Book 3’s first price is $1,599 so, if you’re more budget-oriented, check out what the Surface Go 2 has to offer.
