The Mobile World Congress can’t go by without a word from biometrics companies, the ones that ensure our data privacy. In this sense, NEXT Biometrics is showcasing the first fingerprint sensor module with embedded processor.
Where will you meet the NB-1411-S? Well, NEXT says it can be used in lots of mass-market products, from remote controls to door locks. Another potential application for the “little one” is in smart cards, an area that the company wants to focus on. They’re not the only ones, though. Competition will raise the bar in this market, so time is of essence. Since Europe is mostly working with this type of cards, the timing couldn’t be better for NEXT Biometrics.
With the NEXT CEO Tore Etholm-Idsøe stating that everything is done at a “low cost”, there’s a big chance his solution will find soon products to empower.
