The Razer Phone and Razer Phone 2 are the refresh rate champions these days, featuring an amazing 120Hz refresh rate for smooth gaming and movie experiences. Not even OnePlus 7 Pro can rival that… but the next Asus ROG phone could.
According to a post on the Asus ROG Weibo page, the Asus ROG Phone 2 will sport a 120Hz refresh rate. The translated post also mentions the fact that the video game “Under The One Man” will support the new refresh rate, making it one of the titles users will be able to play on the next Asus phone.
The original version of the ROG Phone had a 90Hz refresh rate with a full HD OLED screen, but we don’t know if the new one will also offer OLED or will go for LCD technology for 120Hz support. For now, Razer’s smartphones are the only Android phones to offer 120Hz refresh rates and they do so by using Sharp IGZO LCD screens.
No other specs were revealed for the Asus ROG Phone 2, but there are a few capabilities expected, such as a Snapdragon 855 chipset, at least 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.
The first ROG phone was pretty great, all things considered. As you know, it offered three ultrasonic triggers for gaming, gaming peripherals, as well as a side-mounted port.
In our hands-on at IFA last year, you can see why the phone is “a true flagship not just for gamers but for regular Joes as well.” Check Yue’s entire take on it in the video above!
