When you’re putting together your next camping packing list, add these two portable power stations to it.
Immotor took to Indiegogo to crowdfund two lightweight power stations with a sleek design (anyone else thought they’re wireless speakers?) and both AC and DC pass-through charging. Here’s their Indiegogo and why you should grab one while you can.
Both power stations meet the needs of most outdoors people, where space and power supplies are critical, and will carry an IP54 rating.
They’re powerful enough to even let you run a portable refrigerator outside, for those who really want the comfort of home outdoors.
They can also be charged with solar panels, a boon for extended trips, but there’s also the option of PD 100W fast charging.
By using your car, you can top up the IMMOTOR bay power stations faster.
The BAY500 comes with a 543Wh battery perfect for a weekend getaway and weighs less than 7 kilos (15lbs).
According to the company, a full top-up of the BAY500 will take 1.8 hours using 300W fast charging (2*TYPE-C PD100W & 100W DC charging). The built-in MPPT system increases efficiency by 30% when solar panel charging.
And, if your phone charges wirelessly, simply place it on top of one of these power stations at night to wake up to a full battery thanks to the 15W wireless charging.
The solar panels fold down in a 52.5 by 35 cm panel that weighs 5.2 kilos.
And, if your phone charges wirelessly, simply place it on top of one of these power stations at night to wake up to a full battery thanks to the 15W wireless charging.
Pair it with the solar panels and your entire electrical setup for a camping getaway could amount to just 12 kilos and a footprint similar to a small camp cooker.
Either option looks like more than enough to enjoy the comforts of home or to even work remotely during a camping break of a couple of days.
Still, in our experience, anything past 3 days or for more than two people would require the larger power station.
If you’re planning a longer trip take a look at the BAY1000.
As the name suggests, this one comes with a 1023Wh battery capacity, in a package that weighs 24 lbs (11 kg). That’s more than power to charge most of your electronics, including your laptop, and could be a great option for group adventures.
As for recharging, The BAY1000 is even faster, using 1000W AC charging to fully top up in 1.3 hours.
As expected, the power stations come with their own app for monitoring their status and performance.
With the IMMOTOR app, you can check on the charging time and battery level or adjust the ambient light.
For those interested in blockchain technology, IMMOTOR also says that the power stations can earn users tokens and NFTs thanks to a partnership with Green Power Network.
