What’s even simpler than the Android home screen and default app drawer? Niagara!
This Android launcher that’s been brewing for the past couple of years in beta is now ready to be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
But why would you wanna do that? Simply because it’s going to make your life easier. The Niagara launcher is perfect for single-handed use as it’s so similar to how Instagram Story options are organized.
All of them are easy to access from a vertical alphabetized list on the right side of the screen. And if you want, you can pin your most-used apps on the home screen.
To find an app in the Niagara (waterfall-like) list, you can swipe up and down to scroll or tap on one letter.
Other nice UX details are notification previews for favorited apps, without actually opening the apps.
All of this and a distinct lack of ads come with the free version of the app. With the paid version, you also get the chance to customize the home screen further with extra widgets at a cost of $6 per year.
