Subscriptions are getting more appealing every day, regardless of the services in question and it’s easy to understand why – people are busier nowadays and most of our shopping happens online. With subscriptions, the companies also make sure we get hooked on getting what we need at our doorstep without having to worry about ordering the items ourselves at a set time.
It was a matter of time before sports shoes joined the trend: Nike announced that it will now be rolling out a subscription feature for children’s sneakers.
Every parent knows that shoe shopping for children (and with children) is not an easy task: the little humans are not sure what they want and can’t really tell if the shoes fit right or not and, aside from that, their feet are growing just as fast as they are.
Nike decided to tackle all these issues via the Nike Adventure Club, the company’s first footware subscription service aimed at children.
“In providing footwear, we’re always trying to answer, ‘What do kids want?’” Director of Product Experience and Retention for Nike Adventure Club, Dominique Shortwell, said in a press release. “But an equally important question is, ‘What kind of experience are we providing for their parents?’ We want to make shopping for footwear as convenient as possible for them.”
So, how does it work?
The parents can order shoe sizes from 4C to 7Y on either a monthly, bimonthly or quarterly basis, which will cost them $50, $30 or $20 per month, depending on their choice. Judging by these prices, the parents will save about $10 per pair, if we keep in mind most children’s Nike sneakers cost $60.
There are over 100 types of shoes they can choose from via the Nike Adventure Club website and every box will arrive personalized with the child’s name written on the side. In addition to that, the kids will also get some stickers along with it, a bonus gift and a guide for games and activities.
These guides are actually the result of a partnership between Nike and KaBoom, a non-profit that aims to encourage children to lead more active lifestyles.
“We see Nike Adventure Club sits as having a unique place within Nike, and not just for it being the first sneaker club for kids,” GM of Nike Adventure Club, Dave Cobban said. “It provides a wide range of options for kids, while at the same time, it removes a friction point for parents who are shopping on their behalf.”
If you’re interested in a subscription, they have become available as of August 12th. All you have to do is head over to the Nike Adventure Club website and choose the one that fits you best.
