Nintendo is nothing if not creative with its consoles. The latest console from the company, the Switch, has proven to be a success among gamers, registering record sales. The sudden, maybe even unexpected ascension of the Switch, made developers hurry to bring game versions that would be a joy to play on that device. One of them is Elder Scrolls: Skyrim from Bethesda, a game that’s going to bring characters’ weapons into the real world #objectmagic

At the E3 event, Bethesda released the official trailer for the new Skyrim for Nintendo Switch. Besides a cool view into the game play, we got to watch the one-of-a-kind attack or defend mode Nintendo controllers would enable. The two companies worked together to make the detachable Joy-Cons behave as several weapons. Depending on the character chosen, the controllers will turn into sword and shield or bow and arrow.

The two companies worked together to make the detachable Joy-Cons behave as several weapons. Depending on the character chosen, the controllers will turn into sword and shield or bow and arrow.

Basically, users will control the Joy-Cons as physical weapons, engaging in an (almost) real-life combat experience. Further more, they’ll be able to bring Link to the game. By tapping the Amiibo character onto the reader on the console’s joystick, gamers will bring the Master Sword, his clothes and weapons in the game world.

Nintendo’s decision to bring the feature to Skyrim is sure to make things more exciting for Link fans. Plus, if they decide to extend support to other characters, we might even see a hilarious clash between game worlds – how would you feel about a cross between Mario and Elder Scrolls?

Bethesda hasn’t made any comment about the release date, although we expect the game to hit stores this Fall. E3 is the biggest event in the world of gaming and it has just begun at the Los Angeles Convention Center. For three days, computer, video and mobile games are going to be showcased here for the first time, giving us a glimpse at this year’s most addictive titles.
