Nokia 9 Could Launch With OZO 360° Audio Capture Capability

HMD’ ambitious comeback at MWC 2017 is nothing compared to its future plans. Recent leaks suggest Nokia 9 will offer full spatial sound, thanks to OZO 360° audio #mobilemagic

According to Nokiapoweruser, the next Nokia smartphone is set to be a premium device, sporting specs you might encounter at the latest Samsung Galaxy phones. The rumor is almost too good to be true, but if HMD can pull this off, then their devices will get a spot in the “major league”.

So, why are we so impressed this time around? First of all, the Nokia 9 will sound divine. The tipster says that the phone is going to come with OZO technology. This is Nokia’s name for their VR platform so it seems that Nokia 9 will be the first smartphone featuring their 360° audio capture system.

If that rumor is somewhat credible, the rest of the features are less so. Apparently, HMD will launch the handset with Qualcomm’s latest processor, Snapdragon 835, the same one that powers Galaxy S8, and a 5.5-inch OLED display with QHD resolution. Even more impressive is the amount of RAM and storage users will get –  a whooping 6GB of RAM with up to 128GB of storage!

To top it off, the rumored camera setup is a 22MP Carl-Zeiss dual camera with 12MP front shooter. Well, a big megapixel number is in Nokia’s DNA and we’ve seen sketches of a Nokia phone with Carl-Zeiss dual camera, so this bit could have some ounce of truth to it. Still, take everything with a pinch of salt until we see some teasers backing up these leaked specs.

Finally, Nokia 9 is said to run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box, to feature an iris scanner for biometric authentication and 3800mAh battery. See? We weren’t exaggerating before – HMD could make a stand in the mobile world with this Nokia device.
