Just a few weeks after unveiling the Nook 10.1, its biggest ebook-reading tablet yet, Barnes & Noble got ready for the holiday season with another announcement.
The Nook 10.1 is also the first company tablet that gets its own Barnes & Noble accessories, both of them competitively priced at $34.95.
The Nook Smart Folio Cover and Keyboard connects to the Nook tablet with magnets and turns the device into something more than an eBook reader. Because it runs on Android and also features the Google Play Store, you can download plenty of apps to download movies, talk online or even do a bit of work on the keyboard. Don’t expect to do too much though, because this tablet is still an Ebook reader at its core, with pretty underwhelming specs.
What’s nice is the launch of the second accessory, a Nook charging dock, which not only charges the device but also provides a handy grip to use the Nook in landscape mode.
Both the Nook 10.1 tablet and accessories are available now on Barnes and Noble, just in time to be added on a reader’s wishlist.
