Who would have imagined the amazing features on Pocophone F1 when we first reported on it? Pretty much no one, since Xiaomi just took everyone by surprise with a powerful yet extremely affordable Poco F1.
This flagship starts at $300 and goes up to $430 for – wait for it – 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage! Yes, you read those specs right. Even though the price is decidedly mid-range, the Pocophone F1 is anything but.
It sports a 6.18-inch IPS LCD panel with full HD+ resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood you’ll find the best chipset available now, the Snapdragon 845, paired with Adreno 630 GPU for graphics and LiquidCool technology (water-cooling) for thermal performance, all of it powered by a massive, 4000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
The base model, which will cost around $300, starts off the show with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
The most expensive model (Armored Edition), which still doesn’t reach $500, will also offer a Kevlar back with an exposed fiber weave.
On the camera front, things are looking up as well. The dual-lens rear setup combines a 12 MP sensor with dual-pixel autofocus and f/1.9 aperture with a secondary, 5 MP sensor. The notch on the display hosts a 20 MP selfie shooter capable of face-unlock. Both cameras come with a host of features like bokeh mode, AI for scene recognition and beautification features. Of course, there are also other nifty features like Bluetooth 5.0, dual-SIM, a MicroSD slot and Android 8.1.
All in all, Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 is one of the highlights of 2018!
