Sony has stayed relatively quiet when it comes to the PlayStation 5. While the controller and some hardware specs have been released, the public knows little about the console, pricing and its games. That could change soon!
According to a report by Bloomberg, news on some PlayStation 5 games could be released as soon as next week. The virtual game showcase could happen on June 3rd but may still be changed due to the ongoing pandemic. As Bloomberg notes, other events will happen over the next couple months as Sony still plans to release the system over the holiday season, but “Sony is not expected to reveal every essential detail on the console during its first presentation.”
The Xbox Series X has already announced several of the games coming to the platform, including the cross-platform Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. One interesting thing about Xbox Series X games, however, is their Smart Delivery option that will automatically update an Xbox One game to its Xbox Series X version if possible. While Sony has said the PS5 will be backwards compatible, there’s no information on if there will be a similar system. Perhaps this series of game announcements will prove enlightening.
