Realme has gone independent quite fast, after being initially launched by Oppo as a sub-brand and now the company has announced its third smartphone in India: the Realme 3.
This new device comes with a Gorilla Glass 3 6.22 inch display that features a waterdrop notch and, though the bottom chin is larger than what we’ve come to expect from 2019 flagships, it doesn’t look all that bad.
Memory-wise it will come in 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB variants with expandable storage via microSD card up to 256GB.
The phone has a Helio P70 under the hood, which won’t make much of a difference from its predecessors, the Realme 1 and Realme 2, which used the Helio P60 and the Snapdragon 450, but there’s other changes that the phone prides itself with instead.
On the back, there’s a dual camera setup consisting of a 13MP unit with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP secondary for depth sensing. One of the changes mentioned before comes in the shape of Nightscape and Chroma Boost features.
Nightscape, of course, is an AI powered night time/ low-light mode while Chroma Boost uses image stacking to bring improvements to colors and reduce the noise.
On the front, we’ll find another 13MP camera with Face Unlock, but there’s a fingerprint sensor on the back as well. The battery is a 4,230mAh one that doesn’t support fast charging, unfortunately.
The company has launched both an Indian version and a global one and they will be available in color variants like Dynamic Black, Radiant Blue and your regular black.
Pricing for the 3/32 GB variant is INR8,999 ($125/€110), while the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option will be available for INR10,999 ($155/€135).
Sales are scheduled to start on March 12th.
