Samsung Electronics is the top brand in both its research and in Nielsen’s Asia’s Top 1000 Brands report each year since 2012, says market research company Campaign Asia-Pacific.
The company is the most beloved brand from all 1,000 choices, followed by Apple, LG and Google. The 9-year research is based on answers from over 8,000 surveyed people across 14 nations in Asia.
Why is Samsung so popular among consumers from Asia?
Surveyed people said that is because of its global resonance, broad portfolio, and its product innovation that keeps people engaged with the brand.
“In the mobile category, if you look at brands like Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo they carry the tag of ‘brand China’. We have seen how damaging that can be in the context of US-China trade war, Samsung have managed to elevate above that—they feel and operate like a global brand.” said Benedict Gordon, Superunion Asia’s Chief Executive.
Even Galaxy’s Fold launch, which had its issues, was noted by Campaign Asia as ‘equal to Apple’s first iPhone announcement’.
If you think about it, the company invests heavily in marketing, and offers a great variety of products, always aiming to reach all types of consumers.
Surprisingly, the manufacturer even boosted its Q2 profits despite coronavirus, which may be directly connected to “strong chip demand from data centers.” The company forecasted a 23-percent rise in Q2 operating profit Tuesday and said in an earnings estimate that it expected operating profit to sum up to $6.8 billion for April-June.
