Samsung is rumored to be investing $40 million in Ingress and Pokemon Go creator Niantic, for some Galaxy-exclusive games. The deal would mean that the Niantic games will arrive already pre-loaded on the Galaxy smartphones.

According to the rumors, the main focus will be an exclusive Harry Potter game which will use the Samsung S-Pen stylus as a magic wand. What we don’t know at the moment is if the game will be a similar version of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, which will be launched in 2019, or if we’re looking at a completely new game altogether.

Word is, while Niantic is more than happy to deliver the Ingress title to the Galaxy devices as well, the Pokemon Go games will not be included in the deal as the company is quite protective of the franchise.

The deal seems to aim at a way to differentiate the Galaxy smartphones from other brands available on the market and the collaboration, if it does happen, will most likely be met with open arms by the users.

It will not come as a surprise though: Samsung partnered up with Epic Games for the exclusive Fortnite launch on the Galaxy smartphones as well – it was an exclusive that only lasted a few days but it did not seem to have made a difference as far as the profit for the Samsung mobile division is concerned.

At the moment, the company hasn’t released any official statements concerning the rumors.
