Segway is primarily known for its electric scooters but the company seems intent to branch out into other markets as well: on Thursday, it has announced that it will be introducing the Segway-Ninebot during the CES this year. It will be the company’s very first autonomous delivery robot, which has been dubbed the Loomo Delivery.
The robot is fully autonomous and is capable of navigating crowded environments and avoiding obstacles without any assistance, thanks to a built-in camera and other sensors.
its main purpose will be to take packages or letters from a mail carrier and bring them to offices or rooms all by itself.
The Loomo comes equipped with interactive screens and benefits from a cloud service dispatch and real-time monitoring.
Alongside the Loomo, Segway will also introduce its new scooter, the Model Max. This new model is designed to be weather resistant and more reliable than its predecessor but for the time being, the company has not released any other details about it.
