Sony wants to crush its rivals with offers photography enthusiasts will find hard to refuse. The latest is a trade in offer – Sony is ready to give $500 for older DSLRs or mirrorless cameras #fotomagic

Until the end of September, Sony is willing to give up to $500 to those who want to ditch their working DLSRs or mirrorless cameras for one of their own. You won’t get just $500, but the trade-in value, too. It’s a rare opportunity, part of “α Trade Up” retail event Sony is organizing this fall. If you’ve wanted to upgrade your gear for a while now, look no further.

The bonus can be applied if you want to purchase a full-frame mirrorless like the a9. Conversely, you can choose to switch your primary camera with an α7R II, α7S II or α7 II model.

In those cases though, you’ll receive a smaller discount. For the α7R II and α7S II, Sony will give you $300, while the α7 II model can be purchased with a $100 bonus.

So, what’s the catch? Well, not every single DSLR model is eligible for the promotion. For example, Sony has a clear list of the cameras accepted for the a9 exchange (just check it here). Fortunately, the other cameras have a less strict trade-in policy, accepting “any working digital interchangeable lens camera”.

You just have to make up your mind until September 30, the last day of the campaign.
