Summer heat bringing you down?
Sony just introduced a cool-looking gadget that can also keep you cool while you’re out and about in sweltering heat.
The Sony Reon Pocket weighs just 80 grams but promises to reduce your surface body temperature by up to 13°C.
You can hold the device in your hand or your pocket but, based on the materials, the nicest option would be to keep it between your shoulder blades and cool off a larger surface. Oh, and it also works as a heater, so in winter you could skip the classic hot patches or microwaveable hot pads.
Sony also makes special V-neck shirts with a small pocket on the back where you can put the Reon Pocket.
It has a silicone pad on the back to stick to your skin and connects to your phone (iOS or Android) using Bluetooth.
There’s also an app that lets you control the cooling and warming settings or the fan’s speed.
The Reon Pocket charges with a USB-C cable and lasts for up to 2-3 hours on a charge, which makes it a great device to keep you comfortable during errands.
The device is sold only in Japan for the equivalent of around $125, with the special undershirts retailing for $17 each.
Since the app has an English setting, you could import the Reon Pocket and use it with no further hassle. You can find it here.
